Who do we serve
The camp aims to bring together children and young adults aged 6 to 16 years who are facing adversity. All our children face one or more of the following disadvantages:
- Foster care
- Dysfunctional families
- Single parent families on reduced income and/or living below poverty line
- Mild disabilities - eg language/learning disabilities, psychological problems, sight problems
- Victims of, or witnesses to, physical or emotional abuse
- Living with a disabled family member
These children need to experience success in community integration, literacy and creativity-based activities and the camps will give our children the opportunity for self-expression through activities and a positive mental and emotional outcome from the success experienced in finishing tasks and achieving goals.
